About the Role Acwa China is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves performing industrial valve inspection, overhauling, repair, testing, and reassembly, as well as precision on-site machining and mechanical field service activities. The position supports maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency interventions across various industrial sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities Dismantle, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test industrial valves, including gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, and control valves. Perform valve lapping, grinding, seat restoration, and replacement of defective components, seals, and gaskets. Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, pressure, and functional testing in accordance with approved procedures and applicable standards. Operate portable machining equipment for flange facing, line boring, milling, drilling, and other precision machining operations. Perform in-situ machining and repair of valves, flanges, pumps, and associated mechanical components. Execute mechanical fitting, dismantling, component replacement, reassembly, installation, and maintenance activities. Support planned shutdowns, plant turnarounds, preventive maintenance, and emergency service assignments. Interpret technical drawings, equipment specifications, and maintenance procedures to complete assigned tasks accurately. Prepare accurate service reports, inspection records, measurement reports, and job completion documentation. Qualifications and Requirements 3-5 years of practical expertise in valve maintenance, portable machining, mechanical fitting, equipment alignment, and troubleshooting. Ability to diagnose valve leakage, mechanical defects, and operational issues. Proficiency in setting up, securing, and aligning machining equipment, verifying dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements. Capability to carry out mechanical installation, alignment, adjustment, and troubleshooting at client sites. Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Health, Safety, and Quality Compliance Comply with company and client HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and approved work procedures. Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), equipment isolation, PPE, and other applicable safety requirements. Ensure all work meets specified quality standards, dimensional tolerances, and approved technical procedures. Inspect tools and equipment before use and promptly report unsafe conditions, incidents, defects, and non-conformities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times. Work Environment and Conditions The role requires working in workshops, industrial plants, client facilities, and remote project locations. Availability for site deployment, business travel, overtime, shift work, and extended working hours is necessary as required by project needs. Candidates must be able to work in demanding industrial environments and comply with applicable site access, safety training, and medical requirements. Maintaining professional conduct and demonstrating a customer-focused approach throughout service assignments is expected. Performance Expectations Complete assigned valve overhauling, machining, and mechanical service activities safely and within agreed schedules. Meet specified quality standards, dimensional tolerances, and testing requirements. Minimize rework through accurate inspection, correct assembly, and adherence to approved procedures. Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment in safe and serviceable condition. Submit complete and accurate job reports and service documentation on time. Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
