What must my Kuwait work contract say and what should I not sign?
Read the contract before you sign. It should clearly state your job title, your monthly wage in KWD, your working hours, the contract length, and who pays your return ticket. Do not sign a blank paper or a contract in a language you cannot read. Do not sign if the wage is lower than what the agent promised. Your job must match the visa. In Kuwait the work contract is registered with the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM). Keep your own signed copy. If the employer later gives you a different contract with a lower wage, that is a warning sign. A written contract is your main proof if there is a wage dispute later.
