Transmission Mechanic

What the work is

Key Responsibilities Diagnose transmission and drivetrain problems using diagnostic equipment and mechanical inspection methods. Repair, rebuild, overhaul, and replace automatic and manual transmissions. Inspect transmission components including gears, clutches, torque converters, valve bodies, shafts, bearings, seals, and related parts. Identify issues such as slipping, jerking, abnormal noise, delayed shifting, fluid leakage, and gear shifting problems. Remove and install transmissions safely and efficiently. Perform transmission oil and filter changes and check fluid levels and conditions. Carry out transmission adjustments, testing, and calibration as required. Use diagnostic scanners and other workshop tools to identify electronic and mechanical transmission faults. Conduct road tests after repairs to ensure proper transmission performance. Follow manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures during repairs. Maintain proper records of repairs, replaced parts, and work performed. Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safely. Coordinate with other mechanics and workshop staff to complete jobs efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe working area and follow all company safety procedures. Requirements Proven experience as a Transmission Mechanic or Automotive Technician specializing in transmissions. Strong knowledge of automatic and manual transmission systems. Experience in transmission repair, rebuilding, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of vehicle drivetrain and related mechanical systems. Ability to use automotive diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and repair procedures. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. UAE/GCC workshop experience is an advantage. Candidates who can join immediately will be preferred. Work Location: In person
